GHS girls lax runs past Swampscott


Gloucester (5-10) has gotten hot down the stretch run taking three of its last four games.

Hayley Labrecque led the Gloucester offense Wednesday with six goals. Caity O'Leary chipped in five goals, Melodie Orrell had two goals and four assists, Tess Destino had two goals and an assist and Kelly Foster had a pair of goals. Julienne Orrell also drew praise from head coach Amanda Barker not only for her two goals but for dominating draw controls.

Seniors Anna Oshiro, Sara Sidlowski and goalie Claudia Oliva also played well in their final home game.

The Vikings (12-3) bats went silent against a strong North Andover squad as they were only able to muster up three hits from Hannah Lorden, Kayla Parisi and Meghan Tupper.

The Hornets played solid in defeat but could not keep up with the Roayls. Rachel Gallagher played well for the Hornets (4-10) going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI while Cailey Lafferty pitched well in the loss.
