Root for the Heat
I know it's almost unfathomable to root for the Miami Heat in its second round playoff series against the Pacers, but it just may be in the Celtics best interest.
If the Celtics can get past Philadelphia they may have a better chance to knock off Miami than Indiana, especially if Chris Bosh remains on the sidelines injured. Just look at what Philadelphia is doing to the Celtics on the glass, it's made this series a deadlock through four games. Now consider the fact that the Pacers are a far superior rebounding team to Philadelphia, the Celtics may not have a chance.
Believe it or not going through Miami in the East finals may be Boston's best shot at a berth in the finals.
Hockey discrimination
Deadspin.com has a weekly feature called Bristolmetrics, where it breaks down the 11 p.m. ESPN SportsCenter broadcasts during the week. A couple weeks back 10.5 percent of the programming was NFL (and the league is out of season, of course) and a mere 9.5 percent was NHL, which was in the middle of an exciting playoff run.
Freedom of the press
Central Connecticut soccer coach Shaun Green is in hot water as school security cameras revealed he threw out 150 copies of the school newspaper. The edition had a story critical of his team's poor academic performance.
