Memorial Day Tournament
The Rockport baseball team will be hosting a Memorial Day Tournament this weekend at Evan's Field.
The tournament begins on Saturday with Manchester Essex taking on Somerville in the first game (4:00 p.m.). Game 1 will directly followed by Rockport and Pope John in game two (7:00 p.m.).
The winners will meet in the championship game Sunday at 7:00 p.m. with the two losers squaring off in the consolation game at 4:00 p.m.
Celtics will take game 7
Was there ever a more predictable loss then the Celtics falling to the 76ers in abysmal fashion Wednesday night in game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semi Finals. The loss brings the Celtics record to 2-11 in road games with close-out implications in the "Big 3" era.
But is there really reason to panic? We all know the Celtics will give it their best shot in game 7 Saturday, unlike game 6, and will most likely win, probably in a blowout. Sure this Celtics team is frustrating to watch but they are as close to a sure bet as there is at the TD Garden with the season on the line, Celtics by 20 on Saturday.
Big Ticket a big plus
Anyone who has watched the Celtics knows Kevin Garnett's career resurgence has been the driving force behind the C's unexpected playoff run. And the stats show how good Boston has been with him on the court.
KG is the runaway leader for the Celtics in plus-minus this season (points for minus points against when he is on the court).
Garnett's plus-266 leads the team by a wide margin over Rajon Rondo (194) and Paul Pierce (191). The worst, statistically, is reserve guard Keyon Dooling (minus-122).
