---- — Krejci day-to-day
Bruins center David Krejci survived a scare after being struck in an unpadded area of his leg by a Johnny Boychuk slap shot late in the Bruins 2-1 loss to the Penguins Sunday.
Bruins head coach Claude Julien told reporters on Monday that Krejci suffered no broken bones on the play. He is listed day-to-day and made the trip with the team to Winnipeg, where the Bruins play tonight, but he did not practice on Monday.
The Boston Red Sox wore their traditional green jerseys and caps to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day Sunday in spring training action against Tampa Bay.
It is believed the first time the Red Sox wore green during spring training was in 1990 when Roger Clemens purchased green caps and stirrups for the team.
EMass teams dominate
The teams from Eastern Massachusetts won five of six state basketball title games played at the DCU Center on Saturday. The exception was a 50-48 overtime victory for Putnam over Mansfield in the Division 1 boys title game.
Other than that, EMass teams dominated. Brighton won the Division 2 boys title over South Hadley. Danvers beat Smith Academy in the Division 3 boys championship. Central Catholic won the Division 1 girls state title over Holy Name. Medfield won the Division 2 girls title over Nashoba. And Archbishop Williams beat Lee for the Division 3 girls title.
On the rink EMass took four of the five crowns up for grabs and Malden Catholic topped Austin Prep in the Super 8 Final. Burlington beat Marshfield in Division 1, Wilmington topped Franklin in Division 2 and Westfield bested Swampscott in Division 3.
