Family Genes
New England Patriots first round draft pick Chandler Jones, a defensive end out of Syrcacuse, may come from the Nation's most athletic family.
Jones is the youngest of three brothers, his older brother Arthur is a defensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens.
Chandler's other older brother Jon "Bones" Jones, may be the most famous and most decorated athlete in the family as he is the current UFC lightheavyweight champion sporting a 16-1 professional record with his only loss coming by way of disqualification.
Patriots fans can only dream that Chandler will become as big a star in the NFL as older brother Jon is in the UFC. In fact, if he's half as good a defensive end as "Bones" is a fighter the Patriots may have an all star on their hands.
Prank Call
During the first round of Thursday night's NFL draft, Rutgers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu thought he was being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 27th overall pick. Sanu, who is a projected third or fourth round selection, received a call from a man saying he was from the Bengals and the team would be selecting him. But when commissioner Roger Goodell announced the Bengals pick it was Kevin Zeitler, an offensive lineman from Kentucky.
Apparently the call was a prank and Sanu would not be taken in the first round of the draft.
Playing Through Pain
It was clear that Bruins center Patrice Bergeron was not playing at 100% in the Eastern Conference Quarter Finals against Washington, but we didn't know just how hurt he was.
As it turns out Bergeron was playing with a partially torn oblique muscle, an injury sustained in game 3 of the series. We already knew Bergeron was a warrior so it was no surprise to see him out there playing hurt, but that doesn't make it any less impressive.
