---- — Brady
Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are locked in the middle of another heated battle at the moment, one that I’m sure neither one could care less about.
At the moment Manning is No. 1 amongst AFC quarterbacks in fan Pro Bowl voting, which Brady trailing behind at No. 2.
No matter who wins both will surely be named to the Pro Bowl this season, but don’t be surprised if neither of them shows up because nobody, including the players, cares about the Pro Bowl.
The Patriots will have one less offensive weapon to deal with on Sunday when they visit the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Star running back Maurice Jones-Drew, one of the best running backs in all of the NFL, will miss his ninth straight game with a foot injury. The Patriots had been preparing as if Jones-Drew was going to play Sunday.
On the Patriots injury front Rob Gronkowski is listed as questionable with his arm injury, an injury that cost him the last four games. His status for Sunday is very much up in the air.
With a playoff spot wrapped up the Patriots would probably be better suited to hold Gronkowski out until the postseason. But given Bill Belichick’s history Gronkowski could be back before the playoffs begin.
San Francisco 49ers safety Dashon Goldson was fined $21k by the NFL this week for a hit on Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez Sunday night.
This is the fifth time Goldson has been fined by the NFL this season, two for taunting or unsportsmanlike conduct and now three for questionable hits.
Goldson was flagged on the Hernandez hit, but not for the hit itself. Officials hit Goldson with a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for his celebration following the hit. The safety says he plans on appealing the fine.
