Area Roundup: Gloucester boys tie for first in Fresh./Soph. meet

The youngsters on the Gloucester boys track team put forth a strong performance Saturday in the Northeastern Conference Freshman/Sophomore meet at the Benjamin A. Smith Fieldhouse with 68 points, good enough for a first place tie with Peabody, that had much more runners participating in Saturday’s event.

“I was very happy with the results throughout the day,” Gloucester head coach Jeff Destino said. “Many kids ran personal bests and we had a number of first place finishers. It was great to see the young kids compete at a high level.”
