Rockport 4 Northeast 2
The Vikings snapped a three game losing skid improving to 2-4 on the season, 2-0 in Commonwealth Athletic Conference play.
The Vikings opened up a two goal lead in the first period on goals from Conor Douglass and Josh Guertin. Northeast tied it up at 2-2 in the second but the Vikings responded with two more second period goals and held that lead until the end.
“I thought we responded in a good way after (Northeast) tied the game,” Vikings head coach Derek Papalegis said. “We had let some leads slip through this season and we responded today. I thought it was a step in the right direction on and off the ice.”
Mike Tupper led the way for Rockport with two second period goals, including the game winner and an assist, Alex Amoroso chipped in two assists. Rockport looks to put a winning streak together Wednesday night against Swampscott (8:00 p.m.).
