---- — Trade Rumors
There are reports that a blockbuster trade is brewing in the NBA and that the Celtics are involved.
According to reports Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge reached out to the Sacramento Kings to work on a deal that would bring ultra talented but difficult to deal with center DeMarcus Cousins to Boston.
It is rumored that the Celtics would be willing to part with Jeff Green, Jared Sullinger and Jason Terry to bring Cousins into town and the Kings may also want Avery Bradley as well.
The Celtics need to make this deal, as they lack toughness down low and Cousins would give him just that, attitude problem or not. The problem is the Celtics may not want to part ways with Bradley.
On Monday the Sacramento Bee reported that a Cousins deal to the Celtics is unlikely.
Speaking of gifted players who are tough to deal with, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was suspended for last night’s game against the New York Knicks for making contact with an official in Friday’s win over the Atlanta Hawks.
Rondo was reportedly not only suspended for the bump, but for refusing to cooperate with the league’s investigation into the matter.
The suspension is Rondo’s fourth in the last calendar year, his third involving conduct with a game official.
the Right Things
Patriots fans may be a little overconfident when it comes to Sunday’s Divisional Playoff matchup with the Houston Texans (4:30 p.m.). Fans have every right to be confident in the Pats chances to win on Sunday given the fact that the Patriots hold a 42-14 win over the Texans in Foxborough on December 10.
The Patriots, however, are saying the right things no matter how confident they may feel.
Tom Brady told the press Monday that this is a “completely different” Houston team from the one they faced last month and that the last win will have no bearing on Sunday’s contest. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said you “cannot overanalyze” the first meeting at that it’s “not significant” at this point.
