Gloucester Daily Times weekly outdoor columnist Dave Sartwell was recently awarded by the New England Outdoor Writers Association (NEOWA) for his outstanding photography in 2011.
Sartwell was awarded 3rd place in best still life photography and 3rd place for best photo of a person for his photo "clamming."
Sartwell's column title "Outdoors" runs weekly in the Gloucester Daily Times covering a wide variety of outdoor topics from hunting and fishing, to golf, to skiing, to habits of several wildlife species.
NEOWA is a group of New England-based professional outdoor communicators dedicated to promoting and supporting conservation, natural resources and our outdoor heritage. Each year the Association honors outstanding examples of writing, broadcast, and images that convey the excitement and wonder of outdoor activities through the press, books, radio and television. Sartwell was chosen for his awards last month in Oxford, Mass.
