---- — Health Concerns

Bruins fans could not help but be concerned after Patrice Bergeron left Tuesday’s game with Ottawa after taking an elbow to the head.

Bergeron has been stricken with concussions in the past, the latest coming in the 2011 playoffs against Philadelphia. Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet, a Canadian sports television station, reported on Wednesday that Bergeron did indeed suffer a concussion.

Losing Bergeron for an extended period of time would cripple the Bruins’ hopes at a Stanley Cup.

Trade Deadline

The Bruins front office was busy this trade deadline pulling off two more minor trades a day after acquiring future Hall of Fame forward Jaromir Jagr from the Dallas Stars.

The Bruins sent a conditional seventh round pick to the St. Louis Blues for defenseman Wade Redden. Redden, 35, has been in the league for 16 years and adds depth to the Bruins blue line as he figures to be the Bruins seventh or eighth defenseman. He is also a long time teammate of Zdeno Chara as the two played as a defensive pairings for several years with the Ottawa Senators.

Boston also traded AHL forward Max Sauve to the Blackhawks for center Rob Flick, a 22 year old minor leaguer. At 6’3” 208 pounds Flick has been a physical presence in 51 minor league games this season.

A few name players were moved at Wednesday’s deadline. The Rangers sent forward Marian Gaborik to the Blue Jackets, the Wild acquired Jason Pominville from the Sabres and the Rangers acquired Ryan Clowe from the Sharks.

The San Francisco Giants will receive their World Series rings April 7 while wearing specially-designed jerseys from Majestic and caps from New Era embossed in gold.

The Giants will play the St. Louis Cardinals that day.
