It appears that the Boston Red Sox are finally sick of Alfredo Aceves’ act. On Wednesday night the team optioned Aceves to triple-A Pawtucket fresh of the heels of his horrible performance in Tuesday’s 13-0 loss to Oakland.
Aceves started that game and was a disaster allowing eight runs in 3.1 innings pitched.
Aceves is expected to start in Pawtucket.
Celtics head coach Doc Rivers was predictably fined $25,000 by the NBA on Thursday for criticizing the officials after the team’s game two loss to the Knicks on Tuesday.
Rivers took issue with a few questionable foul calls on power forward Kevin Garnett in the Knicks 87-71 win.
“I thought the fouls on Kevin were horrendous and had a huge effect on us,” Rivers said.

Snoop Dogg’s son, 6-2, 180-pound sophomore wide receiver Cordell Broadus, has been offered by most of the Pac-12, including USC.
Maybe someday he’ll be covered by Justin Combs, a redshirt freshman defensive back at UCLA. His father is rapper Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs. Jon Bon Jovi’s son, Jesse Bongiovi, will be walking on at Notre Dame.
Bad news for the NHL’s Eastern Conference, Penguins forward Sydney Crosby was cleared to return to Penguins practice on Thursday and is expected to be back on the ice for the start of the playoffs.
Crosby has been out of action since March 30, when he fractured his jaw after being hit in the face with a puck.
With Crosby in the lineup the Penguins are the clear cut favorites in the Eastern Conference, but we all know in hockey that doesn’t mean a whole lot.
