The Manchester Essex baseball team picked up its biggest and most impressive win of the season topping Newburyport 5-2 on the road Thursday.
Adrian Frattini picked up the win on the mound going the distance allowing three hits while striking out three and walking just two. Manchester Essex jumped out with four runs in the first three innings and held off the Clippers the rest of the way.
In the victory the Hornets received both solid defense and timely hitting with Joe Burgess leading the way going 3-for-3, Freshman John Browning was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

The Fishermen (1-6) dropped a heart breaker as Salem scored the winning goal in the waning minutes of the contest. Ian Kennedy and Jason Lattof led the offense with two goals each while Austin Titus chipped in a goal for Gloucester.

Gloucester picked up its first win of the season Wednesday against the Falcons.
Winning their respective matches for Gloucester was Corinne DeLouise (6-3, 6-3), Meghan Muniz (6-4, 5-7, 6-2), the No. 1 doubles tandem of Maryka Gillis and Jill MacDonald (6-1, 6-1) and Qiana Curcuru and Jordan Westling at No. 2 doubles (6-2, 6-2).

The Hornets remain perfect on the year at 5-0 with the win. No. 1 singles Michelle Fuca, No. 2 singles Kendall McCormack, the No. 1 doubles tandem of Rachel Daley and Molly Carlson and the No. 2 doubles tandem of Anna Taylor and Avery St. Sauvere picked up wins for Manchester Essex.
