Area Roundup: Gloucester boys lax wins in overtime

Gloucester 7 Swampscott 6 (OT)

After scoring late in regulation to tie the score at 6-6, junior Ian Kennedy gave the Fishermen a win in overtime with his fourth goal of the game. The win was a big one for Gloucester as it moves back to .500 at 2-2 on the season.

Austin Titus had a pair of goals for Gloucester while Jason Lattof chipped in a goal and John Curcuru had two assists. Joe Taormina played well in net for the Fishermen making a big save in overtime and Devin Hemeon played well on the defensive end.

The Hornets continue their hot start improving to 5-1 on the season with the dominant win.

Brittany Smith powered the Hornets offense with three goals and two assists. Megan Jones had three goals, Meghan Gavin had a goal and three assists and Sophia Guerrero chipped in a goal and an assist from defense.
