Fishermen top Danvers, win conference

The Fishermen (7-0) accomplished their first goal of the season by winning the NEC small school division in Danvers. Austin Souza led Gloucester by winning the mile and coming in second for the high jump (with a personal best 5-9). Other winners included Luis Hernandez (50 yard), Zack Kendall (300), Mario Peritore (shot put), Shane O'Neill (600) and the two winning relays: John Brancaleone, Nick Bagley and Dan Alosio; Kevin Hurd, O'Neil, Andrew Ryan and Liam Anastasia-Murphy.

It was the last dual meet of the season. A few team members will compete at the state coaches meet on Sunday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. The NEC meet is also at the Reggie Lewis Center, next Wednesday, where Gloucester will take on unbeaten Peabody.
