The Hornets (10-3) wrapped up their sixth straight postseason berth and snapped the Chieftains six game winning streak in the process.
Petey Morton powered the Manchester Essex offense on the road Wednesday with 21 points, Sean Gutierrez had 12 points and Justin Eichenberger scored nine. The team also had a big night from the foul line sinking 12 of 14 free throws.
With seven games to go the Hornets are now playing for seeding in the Division 4 North state tournament.
“It’s nice to be 10-3 and its nice to get into the tournament,” Hornets head coach Bryan Shields said. “Tonight I thought we did a good job dictating pace and shot the ball well from the free throw line. Rockport 65 Triton 57
The Vikings picked up a huge win on the road Wednesday moving back over .500 at 7-6 on the season.
Triton had a good first half and took a four point led into the break but Rockport controlled the final two quarters to come away with the win. Mike McCarthy and Adam Balzarini led the offense with 14 points each. Shaun Aspesi had 13 points, Andrew Wayrynen 12 points and Conor Kuykendall had 15 rebounds.

The Hornets (7-7) but up a good fight against the Cape Ann League Kinney frontrunners but the Chieftains were able to pull away late.
Sydney Christopher led the way with 16 points for Manchester Essex, Fraley Morton scored 11.
