The Gloucester High School football game at Marblehead tonight at Piper Field has been moved from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Inclement weather expected later Friday night caused the time change.
It will be the NEC/CAL Division 2 opener for each team tonight. The Magicians enter the contest with a 6-0 record, the best start in school history, and are the defending conference champions. Marblehead enters the game off the heels of a 46-0 drubbing of Malden Catholic.
Gloucester enters with a 1-5 record but it has played far better than its record indicates. The Fishermen come into tonight's contest off of two close losses to CAL/NEC Division 1 powers Masconomet (4-2) and Lynn Classical (5-1).
Tonight's game pits a pair of contrasting offenses as Gloucester comes in with a run oriented wing-t and Marblehead runs the spread but balances the pass and run.
