The Oklahoma City Thunder’s chances at an NBA title just took a huge hit as star point guard Russell Westbrook will have to undergo knee surgery and is out indefinitely.
Westbrook is an irreplaceable part for the Thunder as the team’s second leading scorer and floor general. He injured his knee in Wednesday’s game two win over the Houston Rockets.
The Westbrook injury opens the door for the already favored Miami Heat, who should barely even break a sweat obtaining a second straight title with the Thunder’s second superstar out of the picture for the foreseeable future.
MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers is getting paid. The Super Bowl XLV MVP reached a five-year contract extension with the Packers on Friday reportedly worth $110M.
The deal makes Rodgers the highest paid player in the league in per season salary as he passes the recently signed Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.

University of Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino is apparently a man of his word. The legendary head coach made a promise to his team at the beginning of the season that he would get a tattoo if they won the National Championship this season.
With a National Championship in the bag, Pitino lived up to his end of the bargain getting a tattoo on the back of his left shoulder with the Louisville “L” and the words “2013 National Champions” underneath.
