Area Roundup: ME girls drop a close one in battle of the Hornets

North Reading 44 Manchester Essex 38

One night after the they qualified for the state tournament with a win over Georgetown, the Hornets (3-6) dropped a hard fought game at North Reading Tuesday.

Manchester Essex took the lead after one quarter but a rough second quarter gave North Reading the lead, a lead it would hold onto.

Evy Weihs powered the Hornets offense with 14 points, Eliza Logue had seven and Ella Silag-Stearns had six.

North Reading 65 Manchester Essex 51

The Cape Ann League Large front running North Reading Hornets snapped the Manchester Essex Hornets four game winning streak Tuesday. Manchester Essex moves to 4-4 with the loss.
