Area Roundup: Douglass nets 100th career point in Vikings win

Rockport 9 Minuteman 3

Senior captain Conor Douglass reached the 100 career point milestone in a resounding Rockport win. Douglass, who entered the game with 97 points, got his 100th point on a second period goal completing a hat trick. Douglass finished the contest with three goals and an assist.

Dane Tolstrup had a goal and two assists for Rockport, Mike Tupper had three assists, Alex Amoroso and Mike Tupper had a goal and and assist while John Tucker, Anthony Ciaramitaro and Ryan Mulkerin had goals and Jake O’Maley had an assist.

The Vikings move to 4-5 with the win and can get to .500 with a win on Sunday against Nashoba Tech at the Talbot Rink (8:00 p.m.).

Rockport 40 Essex Aggie 37

The Vikings (4-5) continue to hover around .500 with a hard fought win Thursday. Sarah Rowen had a monster game for the victorious Vikings posting a triple double with 10 points 16 rebounds and 10 blocked shots. Rachel Haselgard had 10 points for Rockport while Heather MacArthur chipped in eight.

Masconomet 131.95 Gloucester 120.65

Gloucester scored its highest point total of the year Wednesday but could not top a powerful Masco squad.

Gloucester was powered by Mike Abel on bars (8.1), Jess Looby on the floor (8.35), Olivia Grim on floor (8.9) and a strong beam performance from Nicole Roach.
