---- — Injury Report

The Rockport hockey team has a big game this afternoon at Pentucket (4:00 p.m.) with a chance to get back to the .500 mark. Unfortunately, the Vikings will be playing without two key contributors for at least the remainder of the regular season.

Senior captain Conor Douglass suffered a leg injury against Gloucester Wednesday and Vikings head coach Derek Papalegis confirmed that he will miss a minimum of three weeks. Douglass is tied for the team lead with 17 points on the season and leads the team with 12 goals.

The Vikings will also be without forward Tucker Reedy, who injured his collarbone during Wednesday’s game and will miss the remainder of the season according to Papalegis.

At 5-6, the Vikings have to win their remaining three Commonwealth Athletic Conference games or win four of their final seven games to reach the Division 3 North state tournament for the fifth straight season.

For Sale

US Olympic hero Mike Eruzione of the 1980 gold medal hockey team, will be auctioning off some famous memorabilia from the “Miracle on Ice.”

Eruzione’s No. 21 USA jersey and his hockey stick and other memorabilia from the game will be auctioned off in New York on February 23, a day after the 33rd anniversary of the United States’ historic upset over the Soviet Union. Eruzione scored the game winning goal for the US in that contest.

Eruzione’s jersey is expected to sell for over $1M.

Eruzione told ESPN that he is selling the items for his adult children and grandson.

“I thought this would be a great little nest egg for them for their future with their kids,” he said.

A-Rod could miss season

Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is expected to miss at least half of the 2013 season after offseason hip surgery. But Yankees general manager Brian Cashman says Rodriguez could be out even longer, the entire season.

“I think because [of] the serious nature of the surgery and the condition that he’s trying to recover from, you know, there is that chance,” Cashman said.

Cashman, however, said that is not the most likely scenario to occur.
