---- — Rivers shoots down rumors
Whether you believe him or not, Celtics head coach Doc Rivers said there was no truth to the trade rumors involving Kevin Garnett and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Rivers said the rumors have been driven by the media.
“It’s all from the media,” Rivers said on Wednesday. “Not from us. Sometimes I like [the media], sometimes, some of the stuff that happens is just silly. It really is. When I wake up in the morning and I hear a trade rumor that I haven’t heard in my office, that’s silly, and that’s what happens.”
Essex native Cody Ferriero and the Northeastern University hockey team picked up a 3-2 win over Boston University in the opening round of the 61st Annual Beanpot Monday at the TD Garden.
The Huskies (8-13-3) move on to face three time defending Beanpot and defending National Champion Boston College (16-7-2) in Monday’s final at TD Garden.
Ferriero, a junior forward, is third on the Huskies in scoring with 18 points in 24 games played this season. Ferriero last made an appearance in the Beanpot Final as a freshman in 2011, where Northeastern fell to Boston College 7-6 in overtime.
Cody Ferriero’s older brother, Benn Ferriero, was optioned to the Connecticut Whale, the AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers, on Tuesday. Benn Ferriero appeared in four games with the Rangers this season registering an assist on the year.
Ferriero has yet to see time with the Whale as he was immediately called up to the Rangers after being traded from the Pittsburgh Penguins system in January.
