Crunch Time

Bradley Out

Celtics guard Avery Bradley will miss the rest of the postseason, even if it's only one more game, with a shoulder injury. Bradley will undergo surgery to repair a tear in his left shoulder.

The injury is a big one for Boston as Bradley has stepped into the starting lineup nicely in place of Ray Allen before his injury.

Bradley has also been an important cog in the Philadelphia series because he can guard the 76ers athletic guards. With that said the Celtics should still be able to win Game 7 tonight without him.

Mind Boggling

New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler was honored this week as the NBA Defensive Player of the Year. The shot blocking big man may be the only Knick that plays any defense and the award is much deserved. But in a peculiar twist, the NBA announced it's All Defensive Teams on the same day, and Chandler was named to the second team behind Magic center Dwight Howard.

How a player can be named Defensive Player of the Year but not be good enough to be named first team All Defense is ridiculous, and pretty much ruins the integrity of the award and the All Defensive teams.

On the Air

Manchester Essex girls lacrosse standout Taylor Meek will be this morning's guest on North Shore 104.9's North Shore Sports Desk as the Cape Ann Savings Bank Student Athlete of the Week (8:00-9:00 a.m.).
