GFAA Golf Day at Bass Rocks October 7, 2013

The Gloucester Fishermen Athletic Association and the Bass Rocks Golf Club are teaming up to provide a Golf Day on October 7, 2013 to aid the GFAA’s efforts supporting Gloucester’s student athletes. Enjoy this unique opportunity to play at a beautiful seaside, private course with views of the Atlantic Ocean on almost every hole.

In addition to a great day of golf there is a chance to win a new car for a hole-in-one on the Thirteenth Hole and prizes for the male and female winners of a long drive contest and closest to the pin. These prizes are sponsored by The Sudbay Motor Group, Cape Ann Savings Bank, Rockport National Bank, Timberline and Jenn and Tim Oakes.

Tee times for foursomes are available from 9AM to 2PM and can be reserved by calling Favazza Johnson Insurance Agency at 978-283-0016. Please do not call Bass Rocks Golf Club. The cost is $320 per foursome and includes golf and cart. Proper dress is required: no jeans or tee shirts. The Bass Rocks Pro Shop and Club House will be available for purchases on October 7.

Ravenswood Trail Race

The 10th Annual Ravenswood Trail Race will take place on Sunday October 20th.

To register go to the Team Gloucester web page (teamgloucester.com) or applications are available at Lone Gull Coffee and Palazola’s Sporting Goods.

There is no post registration and the race is capped at 175 runners.

Essex County Elementary XC Invitational

The 1st Annual Essex County Elementary XC Invitational will take place on Saturday, November 9 (10:00 a.m.) at the Gannon Golf Course in Lynn.

Individual and team entries are welcome, the school does not need to have a formal cross country program or team to be eligible. All students in grades 1-5 from public, parochial, charter and private elementary schools of Essex County and those communities not in Essex County but are members of the Merrimack Valley, Northeastern Conference or the Cape Ann League are eligible to compete.
