2 — As in two weeks, which is how long it took Danvers’ Anthony Garron to fill out the scoring sheet. After just two games, Garron already has produced two touchdowns, seven extra points, one two-point conversion and one field goal. He is currently third on the North Shore scoring list with 24 points, and he’s behind only Beverly’s Brendan Flaherty (38 points) and Bishop Fenwick’s Rufus Rushins (30 points).

Games to Watch

Winthrop (1-1) at Marblehead (2-0), tonight, 7 p.m.: Even when the Vikings are flying under the radar they’re still the type of team that no one in the Northeastern Conference/Cape Ann League wants to see. Winthrop, simply put, makes it tough on their opponent week in and week out. Marblehead enters the contest at 2-0 with narrow wins over Pentucket (21-7) and St. Mary’s (21-20), and the Magicians biggest strength so far maybe their balance. Marblehead and its quarterback Ian Maag (20-for-31, 212 yards) like to spread the ball around.

---

Lynnfield (1-1) at Bishop Fenwick (2-0), tonight, 7 p.m.: Lynnfield has established itself as a solid football program the last few years and this season should be no exception. The Pioneers should be in the NEC/CAL Tier 4 title hunt until the very end, but this seems to be an emerging Fenwick team. The Crusaders have talent and experience on both sides of the ball. Sophomore running back Rufus Rushins is a punishing runner and juniors Charlie Maistrellis and Eric Razney provide the speed on the outside. Nick Bona, a junior captain, is dangerous at the quarterback position and he’s a big hitter at safety.

---

Newburyport (2-0) at Hamilton-Wenham (1-1), tomorrow, 1 p.m.: The Generals were dealt a surprising 34-15 loss by Pentucket last week and this week they had to put things back together quickly before the undefeated Clippers come to town. Newburyport has won two close games against Lynnfield (7-6) and North Reading (19-14), and the Clippers should be riding high with momentum. Hamilton-Wenham, meanwhile, has to put the train back on the tracks. Quarterback Trevor Lyons (214 yards rushing, 3 TDs, plus 126 yards passing and two more scores) will be the player to keep an eye on.
