Gloucester Police/Fire: 'Ransacked' car towed by police

Police/Fire

Police called Tally’s to tow a vehicle that was parked at a “bad” angle on Prospect Street near Elm Street, after noting that the vehicle’s front tire was flat and the side view mirror was broken off Tuesday about 6:59 p.m.

An officer said the vehicle appeared to have been “ransacked,” and had remained parked in the same spot for at least three days, despite its registration plates having expired in May.

Police officers helped a woman recover a backpack containing her personal belongings, after she accidentally left the bag at the Railroad Avenue train station Wednesday morning.

The woman was en route to a Boston area hospital for treatment, and could not return to Gloucester. Gloucester police found her bag and turned it over to Manchester police who will give it to her.
