Gloucester Police/Fire: Apparent drugs found in street of Veterans Way

A Veterans Way mother spotted what appeared to be cocaine on their Street Monday around 8:30 p.m.

According to the police report, the woman was walking her eight-year-old son home when he dropped a snack. While picking it up, she noticed two small plastic bags containing a white substance nearby.

The police report notes two small “twist offs” containing a white powder consistent with cocaine.

The bags were placed in evidence; the woman told police she did not notice anyone looking for missing items recently, according to the police report.

Police arrested an Orchard Street woman Sunday for allegedly attacking a man, giving him a bloody nose, according to a police report.

Police said Katherine Deleo, 21, attacked at man at her Orchard Street apartment Sunday around 3:30 p.m. Police noted there was blood on the floor, and the man was treating a bloody nose when officers arrived.

Police said the man declined medical treatment, and Deleo admitted to punching the man. She was arrested for domestic assault and battery, and was also issued a civil citation for marijuana which was confiscated from her purse, police also said a marijuana paraphernalia was found in the apartment.

A Prospect Street man was arrested for domestic assault and battery Saturday around 2:30 a.m.

According to police, officers responded to the incident while it was in progress, where Derek Romano, 37, was found and placed in handcuffs.

After speaking with a woman who declined medical attention for a bruised arm, Romano was charged with domestic assault and battery, according to the police report. Romano told police he was having an argument with the woman.

Police brought in a Chestnut Street woman on a warrant when they observed her on Main Street Monday around 9:30 a.m.

The police report states Tanaia Chamberlain, 38, was brought directly to court by police.
