---- — ROCKPORT — Police said a South Street resident reported that a mailbox was destroyed at 3:55 p.m. Thursday.

Responding officers said a motorist likely backed into the mailbox, knocking it down and crushing it.

On Thursday at 8:47 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint about a barking dog on Haven Avenue, but officers said it was all quiet when officers arrived.

Firefighters were dispatched to High Street at 11 a.m. Thursday, but responders found that the CO2 detector proved to be faulty.

A Squam Hill Court woman was taken to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, police said, Thursday at 4:11 p.m.

A Bradley Wharf man was also taken to AGH Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
