Rockport Police/Fire: Police aid woman lost in the woods

ROCKPORT — Local police joined with Gloucester police officers in aiding a female hiker who was led to safety after becoming lost in the woods Saturday around 3 p.m.

By activating their sirens and lights, police were able to guide her toward the MBTA commuter rail tracks off Nugent Stretch, from where she found her way out.

Rockport police met the woman shortly after 4 p.m.

Saturday night at 10:20, police responded to a Kitefield Road residence after a noise complaint. Police told the people having a party on the street to keep the noise level down.

Police fielded another noise complaint Sunday at 1:10 a.m. on Granite Street; there, people talking inside were asked to go inside, and complied.

Another noise complaint came through Sunday around 3:15 a.m., people at the Rockport Inn and Suites were asked to keep quiet as well. There were no charges filed in conjunction with any of the noise issues.

Sunday around 9:30 a.m., police assisted with what officers describes as a minor car accident near the Dunkin Dounuts on Railroad Avenue.

Police said there were no injuries and both motorists were able to drive away from the scene.
