Essex Police/Fire: Gloucester woman faces license charge

ESSEX — A Gloucester woman was arrested Sunday just before 10:30 p.m. on Main Street in Essex.

Susan Sceviour, 55, of Smith Street was arrested on a charge of driving without a valid license as well as a warrant out of Gloucester District Court, police said.

Police were called Monday around 1:45 p.m. to the playground at Essex Elementary School for a hornets’ nest. Police said they then notified the town’s Department of Public Works to deal with pests.

A deer was hit and killed by a car Monday at 5:30 p.m. on John Wise Avenue. The motorist was able to drive his vehicle away from the area.

A Story Street woman was transported to Beverly Hospital at 7:16 a.m. Monday.
