---- — Gloucester celebrated the Fourth of July with its Horribles Parade and fireworks show over Gloucester Harbor Wednesday night, but both Rockport and Manchester will mark Independence Day with a number of events today as well.
Today’s Fourth of July schedule is as follows:
Reading of the Declaration of Independence, 10 a.m., Dock Square.
Annual Firemen’s Parade begins Thursday at 6 p.m. from Rockport High School, with bonfire to follow just after sunset at Back Beach. Also, Rockport Legion Band is celebrating its 80th year with a concert Thursday after the parade at the Back Beach bandstand.
Fourth of July Parade starts at 10 a.m. from Lincoln Street between Memorial Elementary School and the Manchester Essex Regional High School, and travel up Vine Street to School Street. The parade will take a right onto School Street, then a left onto Pleasant Street, left on Pine, then left onto Central Street, where it will go up Union Street to Norwood Avenue and end at Coach Ed Field Playground.
The Patriot Brass Ensemble will perform at the Coach Ed Field Playground at the end of the parade at noon, with skydivers scheduled to land on the field at 12:15 p.m.
