District Court: 70-year-old on probation, fined for driving drunk

A Rockport woman pleaded guilty to drunken driving, negligent operation, and driving on a suspended license in Gloucester District Court on Tuesday.

Judge Joseph Jennings placed Patricia Lambert, 70, of 1 Prides Lane in Rockport on probation until April 2012, and fined her $600. He ordered Lambert to participate in drunken driving and safe driving programs. He continued a charge of failure to stop for police without a finding for a year, and dismissed a charge of drugged driving.

Rockport police arrested Lambert on Quarry Street, after following her from Five Corners. She continued driving for about a half mile after the cruiser began signaling her to pull over.

Russell Shatford, 49, of 45 Lexington Ave. of Gloucester, pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license in court on Tuesday.

Jennings fined Shatford $500 for the charge and fined him $250 for speeding.

Police brought charges against Shatford after he was stopped on Essex Avenue on the Route 128 off ramp at Exit 14 for speeding. He was going 80 mph in a 55 mph zone. When police stopped him, they found he was operating on a suspended license.

Charges of malicious destruction of property brought against a Mark Lendall, 37, of 29 Hamilton Road in Peabody were continued without a finding until April 2014 in court yesterday.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of disturbing the peace and was fined $150.

Police arrested Lendall after responding to a report of a fight at an apartment above Sunbanque Tanning Salon on Prospect Street. Police found Lendall yelling on the porch outside the apartment. He had punched a window next to the door after being locked out during an argument with his son.

Jennings continued a charge of driving on a suspended license brought against Todd Lucas, 48 of 95 Prospect St. without a finding until April 2013.

Lucas was charged after police stopped his car for an inspection sticker violation and found his license was suspended.
