Turning back time

If you’ve felt pressed for time lately, you can take heart tonight.

That’s when all of us will theoretically gain an hour, even though the added hour falls at around 2 a.m.

The occasion is the official end of Eastern Daylight Time — or daylight savings — and the dawn once again of Eastern Standard Time. And it means all of us must turn our clocks back one hour, closing the door for another winter on the extra hour of daylight we picked up last spring.

That can be more complicated, of course, for some of us than others — like longtime Gloucester certified public accountant Howard Frisch, who is a serious antique clock collector, with more than 800 timepieces to his name.

Frisch, however, seemed undaunted by this weekend’s task.

“I’m an accountant with time on my hands,” he said.
