Gloucester Daily Times
---- — To the editor:
I am writing as a resident of the now infamous building at the Heights of Cape Ann that had the “bedbug battle” going on (the Times, Page 1, Thursday, Aug. 15).
Seeing that picture and story as front page news was a huge disappointment for me. I respect the Gloucester Times and readers know that I respond to the editorial letters. But I am sure that in the history of this newspaper many people in your readers area have had problem with bed bugs, yet it never became front page news with color pictures.
As the article pointed out the complex has 276 units. But I believe Rest in Peace Pest Control did a professional, quick, and speedy inspection, treating the two or three apartments that needed treatment — including the tenant’s that made this front page news.
On a personal note, I spent part of my childhood living in a housing project in Boston. I know how hard this is on the children, the last thing they needed was for the apartment complex in which they live to be on the front page of the local newspaper because, I believe, of one angry tenant.
