Gloucester Police/Fire: Paramedics aid injured boy at Good Harbor

Gloucester Police/Fire

On Tuesday, at about 4:51 p.m., Gloucester Fire Department paramedics removed a metal object from the bottom of a 14-year-old boy’s foot at Good Harbor Beach. Lifeguards had assisted the boy in getting to paramedics at the concession stand, and police said the object appeared to be part of a lobster trap

Police pulled the plug Tuesday morning on an RV that had been tapping into the city’s electricity while parked at the I-4,C-2 lot since Friday.

The RV’s owner, a man from Salt Lake City, told police he had come to Gloucester to attend a funeral and had plugged an extension cord into the city outlet because he was having battery trouble.

The man promised to leave the lot later in the day.

When officers found a construction company had closed off Duncan Street without a detail police officer present Wednesday morning about 7 a.m., police told the company to cover the hole and issued a warning about operating before police arrived on scene.

The company J. Doyle Backhoe, had requested a detail officer for 7:30 a.m., but began work at 6:30 a.m., police said.

By the time an officer discovered the crew at work at 7 a.m., the workers had dug hole that spanned three quarters of the way across the road.
