Commemorative book to feature veterans

Veterans, family members asked to share stories, photos

The North of Boston Media Group, which includes the Gloucester Daily Times, is creating a coffee-table book featuring veterans from all wars and would like to include your photos and stories in the publication.

The book, titled “North of Boston Salute To Veterans,” will look at the men and women who served in the Civil War up to Iraq and Afghanistan, paying tribute to those who died and offering insight on the impact on the communities these brave veterans left behind when they went to serve the country.

The release date is in December and will coincide with a special event featuring speakers, brunch, a slide show and an opportunity for veterans from all wars and their families to come together and share camaraderie.

Photo-scanning dates will be held in July and August at the Times, The Salem News, The Eagle-Tribune, the Daily News of Newburyport and The Derry (N.H.) News.

The first photo-scanning date is Tuesday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at The Eagle-Tribune, 100 Turnpike St., North Andover, and from 2 to 5 p.m. at The Newburyport Daily News, 23 Liberty St., Newburyport. More dates will follow and will be announced in the Times and in The Salem News.
