St. Ann's got talent

Children perform in celebration of Catholic Schools Week

St. Ann School’s talent show Thursday evening featured 22 acts with more than 40 kindergartners to eighth-graders performing for a full house.

The schoolchildren planned and choreographed their routines, which featured singing, dancing, instrumentals, and gymnastics. They rehearsed for several months under the direction of Pamela Sonia, a kindergarten teacher, and Barbara Barszcz, a first-grade teacher.

This year marks the first time that the talent show has been held during Catholic Schools Week, a national celebration of Catholic education.

“It is a time to showcase our academic and creative talents,” Principal Michele Butler said. “Our week started with a special Mass on Sunday and featured open houses, assemblies, and other fun activities.”

“This show was an inspiring example of the very best St. Ann School has to offer in terms of talent, commitment, and community,” she said.

St. Ann School is the only Catholic school on Cape Ann.
