Kehoe wins by 24 votes to keep Manchester board seat

MANCHESTER — Incumbent Chairman Thomas Kehoe retained his seat on the Board of Selectmen yesterday with a narrow win over challenger Karen Smith-Crawley, who was formerly the chairwoman of the town's Harbor Advisory Commission.

According to totals announced soon after 8 p.m., when polls closed at Memorial Elementary School, Kehoe polled 620 votes to Smith-Crawley's 594 — a win percentage of just 50.3 percent to 49.6.

The election drew 1,221 of the town's 3,823 registered voters, a figure of 13.9 percent.
