Rockport Police/Fire: Restaurant patron returned to pay bill

ROCKPORT — A New Hampshire man found out that saying, “there’s no such thing as a free meal,” is true.

A Bearskin Neck restaurant called police Friday at 9:30 p.m. saying a Chester, N.H.. man was causing a scene. The man then left the restaurant without paying his bill.

Police said they tracked down the patron and returned him to the restaurant to pay his bill.

In other news taken from the fire and police departments’ logs:

“Several neighbors” called police Friday around 11:45 p.m. about a man yelling in the area of Lanes Farm Way.

Police discovered it was a cow in the back of a trailer that was mooing, which was mistaken for yelling.

Police said they notified the cow’s owner.

Sunday just before 8 p.m., police responded to a loud party on Main Street, where the hosts were told to keep festivities quiet.

Police responded to a similar call Monday morning around 2:30. Police told a group of people at the Rockport Inn and Suites on Main Street to keep their festivities inside.

Saturday around 11:15 a.m., police helped a Pooles Lane resident back into her apartment after she was locked out.

Monday just before 9:30 a.m., police conducted a well being check on a Pigeon Hill Street resident, who was fine.

Transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester on Saturday were a Sandy Bay Estates man at 12:30 a.m., a Main Street man at 12:35 p.m., and a Marmion Way man at 10:45 p.m.; and a Granite Street man on Sunday at 10:27 a.m.
