BOSTON — More than 130,000 people have entered for a chance to win a piece of $50,000 in prizes by predicting the outcomes of various situations that might arise in Tuesday night's presidential debate.
Which candidate will be the first to speak? How will President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden greet each other when they take the debate stage at 9 p.m.? Will Trump use the phrase "law and order" during the debate? Will Biden mention his Corvette?
Those are among the 10 questions that Boston-based sports betting and entertainment company DraftKings is asking as part of its presidential debate pool.
First place will take home $5,000, the second- and third-place finishers will each get $1,000, and the fourth- and fifth-place contestants will get $500 each.
In all, 4,160 people who enter the free contest Tuesday night will walk away with a prize of $5 or more. Based on the number of people who had entered the contest as of 2:30 p.m., just more than 3% of entries were in line to win any money at all.
