GLOUCESTER
Monday, Aug. 21
1:43 a.m.: Olivia Perez-Odess, 27, of 59 Old Nugent Farm, faces charges of operating under the influence of liquor and failing to stay within marked lanes. Perez-Odess was stopped by police who say they observed her driving erratically on the Route 128 Extension.
Sunday, Aug. 20
9:33 p.m.: A caller reported a disturbance on Russell Avenue at Babson Reservoir, but a search of the area proved negative.
3:17 p.m.: A caller reported a possible assault on Harbor Loop. Officers restored the peace without having to file any charges.
12:13 p.m.: Officers tended to a report of “bullying” on Arthur Street without filing any charges.
12:38 a.m: Kyle C. Kariores, 18, of 12 Starknaught Heights was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of a property damage crash and failing to stay within marked lanes after police responded to a report of a crash on Thatcher Road. No injuries were reported.
Saturday, Aug. 19
10:51 p.m.: Police restored the peace after responding to a disturbance on Washington Street; no charges were filed. Officers also responded just 30 minutes later to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the area of Captain Hook’s restaurant on Washington Street. That report proved to be “unfounded,” according to police.
6 p.m.: A burglar alarm sounded at the Beauport Hotel Gloucester on Commercial Street. The alarm was found to be false.
12:39 a.m.: Fireworks were reportedly being set off at Burnham’s Field. Officers could not find any sign of fireworks or perpetrators.
Friday, Aug. 18
9:26 p.m.: Lawrence Avanzino, 46, listed being homeless from Gloucester, faces charges of assault and battery, disturbing the peace and trespassing after he was arrested during a disturbance at 93 Prospect St.
ESSEX
Monday, Aug. 21
6:51 a.m.: An alarm sounded in error on Spring Street.
5:39 a.m.: A fire alarm sounded in error on Lufkin Street.
1:03 a.m.: The back door of a car was wide open on Main Street. The officer closed the door.
Sunday, Aug. 20
8:45 p.m.: Hamilton police performed a well-being check on Western Avenue while Essex officers were involved in a drug investigation and arrest (See page 1 story).
3:27 p.m.: A 70-year-old female fell off a dock and into the water on Dodge Street. An ambulance transported her to Beverly Hospital.
12:34 p.m.: Youths were reported running in and out of traffic on Main Street. An officer spoke with the youths and cleared.
2:41 a.m.: A fire alarm activated in error on Winthrop Street.
1:01 a.m.: A pedestrian crossing sign was shattered on Martin Street. The sign was worth almost $400.
12:27 a.m.: An argument was reported on Spring Street. People dispersed after police arrived.
11:31 a.m.: A minor motor vehicle accident was reported on Main Street. No injuries or tows were reported.
Saturday, Aug. 19
10:54 p.m.: A house party was reported on Spring Street.
5:02 p.m.: A threat was reported on Main Street. A former employee threatened to slash tires over a debt.
2:45 p.m.: An erratic operator was reported braking incessantly on Western Avenue.
1:20 p.m.: An erratic operator was reported driving slowly and swerving on Main Street.
11:13 a.m.: Fraud calls were reported Apple Street.
4:21 a.m.: A grinder pump alarm sounded on Main Street.
Friday, Aug. 18
6:57 p.m.: A parking issue was reported Conomo Point Road. The vehicles were moved.
6:04 p.m.: Orlando Castillo, 43, of 296 Washington Street, Salem, was arrested and issued a citation on charges of possession of an open container of alcohol while driving with a suspended license on Western Avenue. He was placed into custody and the vehicle was towed by Tally’s.
5:47 p.m.: Sparking was reported from a stove in a Western Avenue residence. The Fire Department responded and cleared shortly after.
5:34 p.m.: An investigation continues into who owns a boat that was reported abandoned on Conomo Point Road. The boat was towed by Tally’s.
4:37 p.m.: A truck was reported double parked on Main Street. The driver moved it.
2:25 p.m.: A resident reported speeding on Pond Street after it was recently paved.
ROCKPORT
Sunday, Aug. 20
7:49 p.m.: A dog was reported barking all day on Granite Street. Animal Control was notified.
Medical calls: An ambulance transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester a female from Phillips Avenue at 5:13 p.m. and a male from Penryn Way at 6:29 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 19
5:08 p.m.: A motor vehicle accident was reported on Main Street. Tally’s towed one vehicle. No injuries were reported.
3:35 p.m.: A driver was issued a citation for negligent operation at a motor vehicle accident on Granite Street. One motor vehicle was towed. No injuries were reported.
2:43 p.m.: A battery charger was found on Marmion Way and turned into the station.
6:54 a.m.: Wires were reported down on Thatcher Road.
Friday, Aug. 18
7:01 p.m.: A driver was issued a verbal warning for speeding on Granite Street.
3:34 p.m.: Performed a well being check on Main Street.
12:28 p.m.: Annoying phone calls were reported on Granite Street.

Monday, Aug. 21
In the fast lane: A driver was issued a written warning for speeding on Summer Street at 9:10 a.m. Four drivers were stopped on Route 128 southbound and each issued a verbal warning for speeding between 6:02 and 6:21 a.m.

8:55 p.m.: Assisted Essex Police with K9 support.
6:49 a.m.: A driver was issued a verbal warning for violating the “move over” law on Route 128 southbound.
6:43 a.m.: A driver was issued a verbal warning for speeding on Route 128 southbound.

12:20 a.m.: A woman was reported yelling on Moses Hill.
