ROCKPORT — Selectmen are expected to confirm the Fall Town Meeting warrant at a meeting Thursday, at 5:30 p.m.

Originally, the Fall Town Meeting warrant was to be confirmed on Tuesday, but the meeting was cancelled at the last minute due to a “quorum issue,” according to Town Administrator Mitch Vieira.

“Some of the board members had matters come up and were not able to attend,” he said in an email, “so it was determined that rescheduling was necessary.”

Information on how to join Thursday’s online meeting will be available on the town’s website.

This year’s Fall Town Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26. The previous Town Meeting, held Saturday, Aug. 8, took place outdoors on the Rockport High School soccer field. Attendees chose whether to attend out on the lawn or within their cars at the soccer field’s parking lot.

“I believe the set up is going to be exactly the same,” Town Moderator Robert Visnick said. “We haven’t met to discuss the logistics of it but I’m sure we’ll be discussing it shortly.”
