As part of Gloucester American Legion's 100th Centennial Celebration, and its participation in this year's Fiesta festivities, the Legion is sponsoring a set of free live music in its renovated lounge on Saturday, June 29, from 2 to 5 p.m. Featured will be Jake Pardee and Chris Fritz-Grice of the popular North Shore pop reggae band Pier Ave. They will perform a special acoustic duo set.
Gloucester Stage Company, 267 East Main St., launches its 40th season with Neil Simon's romantic comedy "Barefoot in the Park." This was the award-winning playwright's longest-running hit, and the 10th longest-running non-musical play in Broadway history. St. Peter's Fiesta, which takes place downtown all weekend, includes nightly entertainment at St. Peter's Square. The late-night cabaret of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival takes place Saturday, June 29, at 10 p.m. on the third floor of the Shalin Liu Performance Center, 37 Main St., Rockport.
