The Fishermen (11-3) snapped a three-game losing streak with a double-header sweep of Winthrop at home on Saturday, clinching a spot in the Division 2 North State Tournament.
Gloucester used a heavy dose of small ball to accumulate most of its runs and came back from a 4-0 first inning deficit in the second game of the double-header. Sydney McKay picked up the win in both games, allowing one run in each game.
Gloucester travels to Danvers on Tuesday (4 p.m.) in a game that will have Northeastern Conference North championship implications. Gloucester, Danvers and Beverly are currently tied with three losses in conference play. The Falcons and Panthers meet on Monday.

The Hornets move to 6-9 with the double-header split at home on Saturday and have pulled into a tie for second place in the Cape Ann League Baker Division at 6-6.
Abby Taron had four hits and drove in three runs and Zoe Elwell had three hits in the win over Hamilton-Wenham. Sydney Levasseur picked up the win on the mound. Michaela Edelstein drove in both runs against Amesbury.
The team is back in action on Monday at home against Georgetown (3:45 p.m.).

The Fishermen (12-2) extend their win streak to nine straight games and keep their one-game lead in the Northeastern Conference North standings.
Zach Abbott struck out 13 in six innings of work, Jake MacKillop pitched the seventh and earned the save.
The Fishermen host Winthrop on Monday (5 p.m.).

Kyle Beal pitched a no-hitter in the Viking’s throttling of Matignon on the road Saturday. Adam Ramsden led Rockport’s offensive barrage with a home run, a triple and a double.
Rockport (3-14) hosts Manchester Essex on Tuesday (6:30 p.m.).
