Gloucester lax nets four All NEC players

The Northeastern Conference released its boys and girls lacrosse All-Star teams, and Gloucester saw the boys and girls teams have four players named to the All Conference team with four others named second team All-Stars and another awarded with the conference Sportsmanship Award.

The Gloucester girls saw three senior captains earn a spot on the NEC South All Conference team in Julia Kuhns, Ruby Melvin and Caroline O'Leary.

Melvin was named to the All Conference team for the second season in a row and is now a three-time All-Star, she became the fourth player in GHS history record 100 career goals this spring. Kuhns is a high scoring attack and O'Leary anchored the Fishermen defense.

On the boys side, senior James Nelson was named first team All NEC North. The now two-time All Conference player was a standout in the midfield and on defense. Senior captain Dakota Girard was recognized with the conference's Sportsmanship Award.

The Gloucester girls also had three players named second team NEC South All-Stars in senior attack Caroline Muniz, junior goalie Lillie Favazza and eighth grade midfielder Maddie Vittands.

Senior captain and midfielder Ryan Argentino was named second team NEC All-Star for the second season in a row.
