The Gloucester indoor track team ran into a buzz saw on the road Thursday against Beverly, one of the strongest programs in the Northeastern Conference.
The Panthers went on to sweep the dual meet with the girls winning, 63-23, and the boys winning, 74-12.
Liz Kuhns led the way for Gloucester on Thursday with a win in the high jump (4-feet-10) and a second place finish in the hurdles (8.4). Leah Rudolph won the 1,000m (3:15.3) and Gloucester took home the win in the 4x400m relay. Rumi Thomas turned in a second place finish in the 300m, Graci O'Toole was third in the dash and Aidan Cunningham was third in the mile.
Max Boucher was the lone first place finisher for the boys, winning the high jump with a jump of 5-feet-6. Kai DeGuzman had a strong meet, finishing second in the hurdles and third in the high jump. Andrew Coelho was third in the mile, Tommy Elliott was third in the 600m and Trevor Fulford was third in the hurdles to round out the scoring for Gloucester.
The Fishermen return to action on Tuesday with a dual meet at Revere (5 p.m.).
