The Manchester Essex girls tennis team continues to run roughshod over the Cape Ann League.
On Wednesday at the Manchester Memorial Tennis Courts, the Hornet’s extended their CAL win streak to 42 straight matches, dating back to 2015, with a 5-0 victory over Hamilton-Wenham. Manchester Essex moves to 8-0 on the season, 6-0 in the CAL.
In Wednesday’s dominant win, the Hornets picked up individual victories from Olivia Mariotti at No. 1 singles, Christina Bullock at No. 2 singles, Bridget Miller at No. 3 singles, the No. 1 doubles tandem of Andrea Rennie and Tatum Jobe and the second doubles team of Emily Andrews and Jessie Miller.
The Hornets have their biggest match of the season on Thursday as they travel to Lynnfield (3:30 p.m.). Lynnfield is the only other unbeaten team in the CAL, sporting a record of 8-0, so first place in the league will be on the line.
